Richard Pinel is the Assistant Director of Music at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, where he accompanies the world famous choir in some eight services a week. His musical career began in the choir of All Saints' Church, Northampton, which he joined at the age of 7. After going through the ranks of chorister, organ scholar and two long periods directing the choir, he took up the organ scholarship at Magdalen College, Oxford in 2002. In Oxford his duties included accompanying the regular daily worship and assisting the Informator Choristarum Bill Ives. Upon finishing his degree at Oxford, Richard took up the post of Assistant Organist at St George's Cathedral in Perth, Western Australia before moving back to the UK as Organ Scholar of St Albans Cathedral. Immediately before taking up the post in Windsor, Richard returned to Magdalen for a brief spell as Assistant Organist. Outside of his chapel duties, Richard maintains a busy freelance career, as an organist, piano accompanist/repetiteur and continuo player and is a visiting tutor in piano and organ at Eton College. Richard has taken part in several broadcasts, including In Tune and Choral Evensong on BBC Radio 3 as well as from the Jean Langlais Festival on Radio France Culture. On CD he can be heard with Magdalen College Choir on the Harmonia Mundi USA label, and on Lammas Records with the choirs of All Saints', Northampton. Recent recital venues have included Bath and Westminster Abbeys, The Queens and Magdalen Colleges, Oxford and Lichfield and Blackburn Cathedrals.

'...everything on the disc ... is played with brilliance, and a good understanding of the instrument and the music'

The Most Reverend Roger Herft, Archbishop of Perth:

'the music ... was rich and full bodied with smooth variety - like a very good Margaret River Red!'
